ARTSA 2017Feedback by Andre de Villiers

ARTSA 2017 was once again an event to be remembered by all attendees, including 41’ers.  Peter Harding, our Second Vice President, convened the whisky tasting.  ARTSA 2017 convener, Spidey Knepsheld, Photo 1 640x427organised the Liquid Lounge barge for the event and 41’er Past President Jon Marshall once again gave a brilliant lecture on whisky tasting. John Marshall Showing the minimum whisky required in your glass to properly taste it.  To ensure open noses for the whisky Photo 2 427x640scent, Jacques and Anrie du Preez forced snuff into our systems with hilarious effects. Thank you Distell for sponsoring the whisky!

Dellorin Bornmann, Jacques Moukarzel, Adrian Pretorius and Ken Lehmkuhr later explained that they are still deciding if brandy or rum is the best whisky.

During the whisky tasting, Stephan Beukes, Ken Lehmkuhl, Aaron Bigmore, Kobus Klopper and Craig Cornsforth, joined the 41’er Association along the official route.  Welcome Fellows!

For the young 41’ers like Leon Garbade, the fun stated as they took the HARDWAY Up from KZN.  They went up the Sani Pass through Lesotho to the Hardcore Hut.  Luckilly they had a Toyota in the team to help the Land Rover.

The Hardcore Hut resulted in celebrations.  Celebrating our association with Round Table as well as building 41’er relations.  There is no confirmation, yet, if John Marshall, Peter Harding or Dave McKay was the last 41’er standing. Some of us exchanged interesting pinsPhoto 9 480x640

Vice President Dave McKay delivered a great speech at the RTSA AGM, emphasising that the fun and fellowship do not stop for Retiring Tablers.  The AGM was rudely interrupted by Gumtree 13, where Ninja gave spot-on feedback.  Included in the feedback were: Ninja wanted to phone Rupert, but he could not find a directory with the RTSA President’s particulars in it.  He invited Jacques to come down to earth to see who the next Tabler of the year will be and closed his feedback stating that there are only two kinds of Fortuners, those who have rolled and those that still will roll.Photo 5480x640

The Gala Dinner were done in style.  Vice President Dave McKay welcomed all retiring Tablers orf2017 and urged them to join our Association.  It was great to hear that Cornelius Burger will now permanen
