How are you
I trust that you are all staying warm during this cold South African winetr of ours. My apologies for the delay in sending out the Newsletter but we had a kink in the system but all is now well again.
Well during March 2014 we had our 2nd Exec meeting in Welkom and if you CLICK HERE you can read the minutes from that meeting. The OUTGOING YAP TOUR has been finalised, tickets bought and paid for, visas received and they are all ready to go….Germany and Belgium here they come. From my side just a BIG THANK YOU to Germany and Belgium for hosting the YAPS again this year…and to the SOUTH AFRICAN YAPS….go over there, learn about new cultures, experience true Fellowship and have an AWESOME trip….! The tour takes place from the 28 June – 17 July 2017. With that said, planning for the INCOMING YAP TOUR has commenced and hopefully will be completed by the end of June 2014.
President Koos and Keith Dempsey accompanied by their wives attended the GB&I AGM a little while ago and Koos was presented with the Tom Hodge Fellowship Award for International Fellowship….well done Mr Pres! CLICK HERE to see PHOTOS from the International AGM in Korsor, Denmark.
Myself, Pres Koos and Keith attended the International AGM in Korsor, Finland. The meeting was well attended and I am happy to report that South Africa was unanimously elected to host the INTERNATIONAL VICE PRESIDENCY in 2016/17 and the Presidency in 2017/18. Austria, who was standing against South Africa for the Presidency graciously stood back for us to continue. What an absolute honour for our country as well as me! I look forward to hosting the International Presidency with the full support of South Africa and the International Community.
The good news is that the International Organisation are growing from strength to strength with MALTA being accepted as a member and the NETHERLANDS becoming affiliated to 41 Club International. Please CLICK HERE to read a report from President Koos.
The INTERNATIONAL HALF YEARLY MEETING that will be held later this year in New Zealand, will not have a delegate from South Africa in attendance. This is mainly due to the extreme cost and distance to be travelled that is involved. Our very good Friend BEAT BERGER FROM SWITZERLAND has graciously agreed to represent South Africa at the meeting. Beat THANK YOU for that, we really appreciate it. Gertjie, the Association IRO will attend another International meeting later this year in place of the HYM.
I would like to call on all Southern African 41’ers to make an effort to support the ZAMBIAN AGM that will take place in LIVINGSTONE this year over the weekend of 12 September 2014. Further details will be given through as I receive them.
OUR ASSOCIATION AGM will be held at the Port Edward Holiday Resort in Port Edward this year from the 05 – 07 September 2014. REGISTER NOW by CLICKING HERE! It is going to be an awesome weekend and we look forward to having you all there. The accommodation rates are really well priced and I suggest you make your bookings now, CLICK HERE to view the accommodation.
THANK YOU to all the CLUBS that have paid their subs it is greatly appreciated. All those that have not paid, please do so.
Before I wrap it up CLICK HERE to read the International Newsletter. So that is it for another month…if anyone has anything to share with us then please contact me…send in photos of your socials etc.
Remember to have fun, Enjoy life and Embrace the
Friendships you have around You!
Until next month........May the Hinges of Friendship Never Rust.
