On day 1 the YAPS were taken to visit Vilikazi Street in Soweto and shown where Nelson Mandela as well as Bishop Desmond Tutu lived. They enjoyed the sound of the local Afrocan village before being whisked off to a lion and rhino farm, where they were able to view many white lions and various other game. The evening saw them enjoy local South African foods; namely Boboti, chicken al la king finished off with malva pudding, custard and koeksisters. All this was done while enjoying a great evening of fellowship with 41ers from Johannesburg and Pretoria while standing around a large fire.
