ARTSA 2018 - COME AND GONE - SUPPORTED BY 41'ERS
ARTSA 2018 has come and gone. As usual there were plenty of members from the 41'ers Association of Southern Africa attending this years ARTSA in support of Round Table Southern Africa. It is also the ideal opportunity for the association to recruit members from the outgoing Round Tablers. Congratulations to Hilton Megaw and his team for hosting an awesome event in Upington in the Northern Cape.
As tradition has it, the 41’ers Association of Southern Africa hosted our famous Whisky tasting on the Friday afternoon at ARTSA, assisted by Round Table. The event is held with special invites to the out going Tablers with the main intention being to introduce them to 41 Club within Southern Africa.
This year there was a twist, due to the fact that ARTSA was held in the Kalahari, Northern Cape this year, the whisky tasting was changed to offer a more suitabe tasting in keeping with the local flavours; namely brandy and wine. The event was hosted at the Orange River Cellars, a well known winery in the area. With the assistance of Werner Labuschagne from Postmasburg 41’ers, about thirty 41’ers and their wives joined the brandy and chocolate pairing as well as sampled (well more than sampled) the best wines that the Orange River Cellars could offer.
Another great Round Table event supported by Lady Circle and Club 41. After a great time together and the successful recruiting of eleven new 41’er members, it was back to ARTSA 2018, the Hard-Core hut and the famous area food stalls.
In closing, well done and congratulations to Andrew Lea and his outgoing council as well as good luck to Sean Troutman and his incoming council for the year ahead. I am sure that you will have an awesome year. Please be assured of our fullest support and we look forward to a fantsatic year of friendship and fellowship with Round Table.
