YAP Tour 2022 Southern Africa – Last Day

So the last day of the YAP tour has arrived before the AGM starts. The Yaps set off to Somerset West where they were hosted by the 41ers in the area.

They all voisited with their hosts and enjoyed a relaxing day and evening. there was alcohol involved. The End.

On behalf of the 41ers Association of Southern Africa, we would like to thank all the YAPS for visiting our beautiful country and trust hat you all had a great time.

YAP Tour 2022 Southern Africa – Day 12

The day started with breakfast at Struisbaai Backpackers after which the Yaps departed for Hermanus via Elim and Gansbaai.

Lunch at Burgundy Restaurant and then a free afternoon of shopping and whale watching.

The evening gathering hosted by RT Hermanus 267 at the Old Boys club and consisted of a build your own wrap concept.

Once again a great day of fun and fellowship was enjoyed by all.

YAP Tour 2022 Southern Africa – Day 11

The Yaps set off to Arniston where they visited the Waenhuis Krantz Cave and enjoyed a picnic on the beach.

From there they went on to visit the shipwreck museum in Bredasdorp.

After the museum they stopped off at Peter Albertyn’s farm Zeekoevlei dating back to 1804, of the oldest farms in the Overberg.

Light lunch was next and then, clay pigeon shooting and viewing Alpacas on the farm.

The evening’s entertainment included a fish braai with salads at Struisbaai Backpackers hosted by L’Agulhas 41ers and Tablers.
Nation’s day- Cornelia from Austria presented her food and drinks and Laura Noergaard celebrating her 20th birthday!

YAP Tour 2022 Southern Africa – Day 10

The Yaps left Mosselbay very early for Struisbaai.

They asked to see elephants so a feeding at the Indalu Game Ranch was arranged. They again celebrated Anne Brit’s birthday at a truffle and olive farm in Albertinia.

During the late afternoon they arrived in Agulhus and visited Cape Agulus and had some sundowners at Skippie, a sunken wreck.

The evening was spent making their own pizza’s at the Agulhus Backpackers!

YAP Tour 2022 Southern Africa – Day 9

This was a lazy day for most of the Yaps. Time was spent helping RT32 Mosselbay with their community project that was to do a beach clean up.

The rest of the day was spent at the well known Diaz and Point Beaches in Mosselbay, relaxing, swimming and just having a great time.

The evening saw the Yaps being hosted by Mosselbay RT32 and celebrating Anne-Brit’s birthday. Nico, Johan and Sieto doornbos for the celebrations.

Meanwhile Annemie Coetzee took Max and Karan for a trip to the Cape Town Waterfront after flying in from Bloemfontein.

YAP Tour 2022 Southern Africa – Day 8

Day 8 saw the Yaps visit and ostrich farm with the opportunity to hold some of the chicks. After that they they went to visit the well known Cango Caves which are simply magnificent.

Then it was off to Mosselbay where the Yaps settled into there sea facing accommodation and then visited the Clubhouse of the Round Tablers in Mosselbay.

Other than that it was a relaxing day with the opportunity to visit the beach and take a stroll along the coast.

Meanwhile in Bloemfontein the two Yaps that remained enjoyed the day playing with some of the big cats, amongst others lion, leopard and cheetahs!

YAP Tour 2022 Southern Africa – Day 6 & 7

On day 6 the Yaps spent the day in Bloemfontein resting and a few of them went shooting on with Trevor de Bruin on his farm.

They left early on day 7 and had to travel quite far to Meiringspoort, where the braver Yaps took a swim in the chilly water of Meiringspoort.

From there they travelled to Oudtshoorn where they were hosted by the RT33 enjoying an ostrich braai at their clubhouse.

Chris and Corne won the auction held for the famous RT33 ostrich egg to take back home!

YAP Tour 2022 Southern Africa – Day 5

The day started with a breakfast sponsored by a local coffee shop in Hartswater. From there the Yaps were taken on an educational tour of a pecan nut farm, which they found very interesting.

Then it was time to hit the road again and off they went to Kimberly where they had a tour of the Kimberly ‘Big Hole’ which is claimed to be the deepest excavation by hand at a depth of 1,097 metres. Lunch was enjoyed at a local pub in Kimberly.

After lunch it was again time for a short drive to, Bloemfontein known as the City of Roses, where the YAPS were taken on a tour of Naval Hill, that derived its name from the two naval guns that were placed on the hill by the Britsh during the Anglo-Boer war. Nacval Hill is also a nature reserve and is located in the middle of the city.

After settling in with their hosts they were hosted by the Bloemfontein 41ers in true country style out on the farm of Trevor and Elana de Bruin

YAP Tour 2022 Southern Africa – Day 4

This morning the Yaps were up early to go on a game drive in Vryburg, after which they left for Hartswater.

On arrival in Hartswater around 14h00 they had a quick light lunch and were then whisked off to the farm of Stephan de Villiers where they relaxed for a while.

The Yaps then were treated to a well-known local sport ‘Bokdrol Spoeg’, (which is basically a competition where you see how far you can spit the dung of a buck).

They then returned to the farm to see the amazing sunsets and enjoyed a braai and dinner with the Hartswater 41ers

YAP Tour 2022 Southern Africa – Day 3

Good morning,

Day 3 saw the Yaps travelling from Pretoria to Potchefstroom, that is well known for its university and for being the academic city of the North West Province.

They met up with the Tablers and 41ers in Potchefstroom and visited their clubhouse.

After enjoying a quick sightseeing tour of the area they enjoyed prego rolls with the Tablers and 41ers as well as had the opportunity to visit the Round Table clubhouse and sit around the famous ‘Round’ table.

They then departed for Vryburg and were treated to a very festive social at the house of Wilton Viljoen while experiencing some great local cuisine.
